Pauline Stafford (1949 - 2010).
Written by IDPA - 14th August 2010.

It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Pauline Stafford this morning, Saturday, 14 August 2010.

Pauline was a giant amongst the dart playing community and a friend to all who knew her.  She championed the players and stood up for their cause in every way.

Pauline was a strong supporter of the BDO, England Darts and a mainstay with her beloved Cheshire County Darts Organisation.

We all will miss Pauline’s input and influence in all aspects of the game.

The Directors and all Members of the IDPA will always remember Pauline, as she was one in a million.

Sleep well.

Players returning to the BDO system.
Written by IDPA - 10th August 2010.

Questions have been asked recently about the situation players face who have played  darts elsewhere and become members of the PDPA in recent times, who for whatever reason wish to return to the BDO system.

The IDPA have always informed such players that written proof that they are no longer members of the PDPA and a affirmation that they are not going to return to the PDPA has been sufficient for the player concerned to be accepted back to the BDO system. A number of players have acted on this information and are now back playing WDF/BDO darts.

As far as Super League and BICC events are concerned, there are no current restrictions by the BDO on PDPA members. However a number of Counties have imposed restrictions because of lack of commitment or support for their Counties activities.

In a situation where a player cannot provide written confirmation of his resignation from the PDPA he would not be eligible to play in events that lead to qualification for the Winmau World Masters or the World Professional Darts Championships.

ALLOCATION OF RANKING POINTS 2010 BRITISH CLASSIC.
Written by IDPA - 26th July 2010.

After representations to the Chairman of the British Darts Organisation over the published allocation of ranking points for the weekends British Classic at Braintree we can report that a decision should be made by the Board of Directors of the BDO by this coming weekend in regard to the correct allocation.
The IDPA have spoken to the BDO as early as Sunday morning last where it was pointed out that we are of the opinion that the full amount of points should be allocated as for a Category B Tournament.
We pointed out that to penalise the players who had paid their entry fees travel costs etc expecting points to the last 32 was not their fault of those who were loyal to the Tournament.
Our opinions on the subject received a very positive reply from the BDO Chairman who has quickly contacted his Board and as stated that a decision should be made by the weekend.
We can also report that the situation has thrown up a number of possible problems that can occur and we have been informed that they will be dealt with in the end of Year review in time for the next season.
