The IDPA are pleased to announce the commencement of a brand new Tour and Ranking system for it’s members.
A total of 128 IDPA Tour Cards will be issued to players both Professional and Amateur for a two year season commencing on the 1st January 2007.
Included in the new Tour will be six weekend Pro-Am Tournaments at Pontin’s Holiday Centres .

For the 2009/2010 season there will also be 128 players determined as follows:

SEEDING STRUCTURE (For Pontins/IDPA controlled Tournaments only.)
Each Tournament will be seeded in the following order.

PONTINS PRO-AM TOUR
Six events per year. Players must commit to play all six. All entry fees to be paid to Pontins. There is also a £50.00 Admin charge.
Each Event:

Entry Fee: £50 per event.
PLAYING FORMAT
All matches best of 9 x 501.
16 groups of eight players round robin. One seed per group.
Top four in each group go through to knock out stages. Bottom four go through to Plate Competition.
Bull up first and final leg if required. Two points per match win in Group. Equal placings in final group table decided by 1. Leg difference. 2. match result between players,
This format ensures that each participating player will play at least eight matches.
The above competition will be played on the Saturday and Sunday. When the allocation of Tour Cards is complete card holders will be canvassed as to the type of Competition they would like to have on the Friday.
PONTINS ACCOMODATION
Club Chalet 1 bedroom up to 4 people £40 per night Classic £30 per night
Club Chalet 2 bedroom up to 6 people £50 per night Classic £40 per night
The above prices are per chalet per night.
AMATEUR STATUS
An Amateur status section of the IDPA has been formed to provide a “second” tier for participation and membership for all the activities of the IDPA and Amateur membership will will also offer the full services of the IDPA. Amateur members will be subject to all the rules, codes and conditions of membership of the IDPA including the IDPA Code of Conduct.
Amateur members will be offered entrance to all IDPA promoted Tournaments other than those solely promoted for Professional members. Separate Professional and Amateur Tournaments will be provided in addition to the Pontins Pro-Am tour which will include both Professional and Amateur members.
A separate ranking system will be introduced for the Amateur only Tournaments and points gained by Amateurs in all other Foundation ranked Tournaments including the Pontins Pro-Am.
It is hoped that by providing aspiring players with this separate playing arena that those unable to follow a full time darting career will have the opportunity to play in a “professional circuit”.
