Members please confirm your requirements for  the 2008 Northern Ireland Open to be held in Newry Co. Down on the 7-9th November next as soon as possible.
The Tournament is both WDF and IDPA ranked and now carries BDO Category B
Points allocation. Those wishing to travel to the tournament please contact the office.
Singles are played on Saturday, Pairs on Sunday and there is a Mixed Pairs Tournament on the Friday evening.

Please note this years Czech Open is the first ranked Tournament for the new BDO Invitational Ranking Tables. The Tournament is held in Prague on the weekend of the 1/2nd November next.(A BICC weekend) Some members have already booked for this Tournament. Please contact the offices as  soon as possible if you wish to travel to Prague.

Will all members please note that as and from the 1st September 2008 all bookings for Travel to Tournaments will be a package deal ie. hotel plus entries and travel  (the latter if so  required).
The decision for the Association not to do entries only is because, not for the first time, the IDPA has entry fees still outstanding that amount to several hundred pounds.

The BDO have confirmed to the IDPA that there will be, as 2007, 8 seeds seeded through to the last 16 of this years Winmau World Masters.
Rumours that there was to be 16 seeds are completely unfounded,

Full details and booking forms are now available to members for the 2008 Belgium Open being held in Temse, Belgium (20km from Antwerp) on the weekend of the 8-10th August 2008.

New Points Allocation for this Tournament.:-

Due to the serious apathy by some players with regards  to the Pontin’s Pro-Am Tour we have taken the decision after discussions with Pontin’s  to cancel the Tour.

Pontins have been gracious to now offer players the chance to be invited to a brand new series of Tournaments that will be based on the unique playing format that was to be played had the Pro-Am Tour commenced.

The Pontin’s IDPA Invitational  Grand Prix Series will take place  over a two year period commencing at the Pontins Holiday Centre, Hemsby, Norfolk on the weekend of 28/30th September 2007, and will comprise 10 Tournaments.
We have also taken the decision that we will offer invitations to the series to 128 men and 64 Ladies. The initial line up will be guaranteed entry to all of the tournaments in the two year period. A standby list will be used to fill any vacancies at Tournaments where any original entrants cannot attend.

Each weekend will consist of the major round robin competition as was proposed for the Pro-Am Tour, 16 groups of 8 for the men and 8 groups of 8 for the ladies.
Those members who entered the Prestatyn and Brean Sands Pro-Am competitions will be automatically invited into the Grand Prix.

We apologise to members who had already made commitments and confirm that those who purchased air tickets will be compensated.

We have been informed that the BDO will allow us to nominate up to four players for entry into the 2007 World Masters based on the IDPA Foundation Rankings which will also include all Grand Prix Tournaments in the future. All Grand Prix tournaments will be ranked category 2 in both the IDPA International and British Ranking tables. 
In addition to the new Grand Prix series we are pleased to announce that the IDPA Lakeside Classic will take place in the Canal Suite at the Lakeside on Sunday the 15th July 2007. Entry forms are available on our web site.

The IDPA are willing to put on these type of Tournaments but we cannot make a success of them without the essential backing of players.

The IDPA have pleasure in announcing that a new Men’s and Ladies Tournament the IDPA Lakeside Classic will take place in the Canal Suite of the Lakeside complex on Sunday the 15th July 2007.

First prize for the Men’s competition is £2000 and £1000 for the Ladies. Full details are contained in the entry form that you can download from this site. Click Here.

The Tournament takes place the day after the BDO Gold Cup is held at Lakeside.

Both Ted Hankey and John Walton have made the decision to decline the invitation to the IDL scheduled for a few weeks time. Their reasons have been made known to the promoters. Ted and John were included in the top 12 WDF/BDO invites and it is their personal decision not to play. The IDPA fully understands their position.

Other members who have declined the invitation to the play-offs do so because of their unavailability
due to the fact that they did not have adequate notice to get leave from their employment.

There appears to be a misunderstanding with regards to the payment of fees required to play in the forthcoming Pontins Pro-Am.
As previously stated entry fees are to be paid per Tournament not as previously requested. Invoices will be issued for the one off Pontins administration fee.

Amongst the many phone calls e-mails and a few postings congratulating John Boy on the new web site was the classic e-mail  that the  difference between the IDPA and BDO web site was like “Comparing Chippendale furniture to a MFI Flat Pack”

Invitations to members for the first two Pro-Am Tournaments are now being sent to members. We request members who are definitely playing the Pro-Am circuit to return their booking forms as soon as possible.

Please remember only those in possession of a IDPA Tour Card are eligible for the Pro-Am Tournament. The Friday evening knockout is open to all members.

The first 128 entries for the Pro-Am received will be automatically entered into all Pro-Am Tournaments in 2007/8.
Any member who has not received their invitation should contact the office by telephone or e-mail as soon as possible.

 
Following on to a “complaint” by a member regarding the fact that his personal telephone number had been passed to a third party by other persons, we wish to confirm IDPA policy on this subject.     

“On request by a third party to the IDPA for a members telephone number(s), the IDPA will at all times contact the member involved for permission to pass on the requested telephone number(s)”

We can confirm that we have ascertained the source from where our members was passed on from, and they have agreed not to do so in future prior to contacting the member concerned.
